  • 50 ml bourbon
  • 35 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 12½ ml 2:1 sugar syrup
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • ½ fresh egg white
  • Ice as needed
  • 50 p-sized piece of lemon zest
  • For Garnish:
  • 1 slice of orange
  • 1 cherry on a stick

Method

  1. In a cocktail shaker, add bourbon, lemon juice, sugar syrup, bitters, egg white, and ice.
  2. Shake vigorously until well chilled and frothy.
  3. Strain the mixture into an ice-filled rocks glass.
  4. Squeeze the lemon zest, shiny side down, over the drink to release oils. Discard the zest.
  5. Add a slice of orange and a cherry on a stick.

Notes

Honestly, this cocktail isn’t about perfection. It’s about shaking, tasting, laughing at mistakes, and ending up with something surprisingly good.
If your first try is messy, congrats, you’re doing it right. That’s mostly what this blog is about anyway: a little chaos, a little fun, and a lot of flavor. Cheers.
