Ingredients
  

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 small yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 Roma tomatoes diced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper seeds removed and finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • Juice of 1 fresh lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Method
 

  1. Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Use a fork to mash the avocado. Make it chunky, smooth, or somewhere in between. This part is personal. There’s no wrong answer.
  3. Add the onion, tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.
  4. Stir everything together until combined. Give it a taste. Add more salt or lime juice if it needs it. Trust your mouth more than the measurements.
  5. Serve right away with tortilla chips, or honestly, whatever you have nearby.

Notes

Guacamole doesn’t need to be complicated to be good. It just needs decent avocados, a little patience, and a few taste tests along the way.
If yours isn’t perfect, that’s fine. It’s homemade. And that’s kind of the whole point anyway.
