- Combine the cold water and vodka in a small bowl, then place the mixture in the refrigerator so it becomes evenly chilled.
- In a separate heatproof bowl or measuring cup, add the gelatin powder and slowly pour in the boiling water. Stir continuously until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the liquid looks clear without any visible granules.
- Remove the chilled alcohol mixture from the refrigerator and pour the dissolved gelatin mixture into it. Stir gently but thoroughly so the liquids blend evenly.
- If using food coloring to adjust or intensify the color, add it at this stage and mix until the shade is uniform.
- Carefully pour the mixture into shot cups or molds, leaving a little space at the top to prevent spills.
- Transfer the filled cups to the refrigerator and chill until completely firm, allowing sufficient time for the gelatin to set fully before serving.
