Banana Nut Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups mashed banana about 3 large or 4 medium very ripe bananas
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8½ x 4½-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the mashed banana, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Do not overbake.
  8. Remove from the oven, carefully unmold from the pan, and let cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
